Kiddikins, a division of Quest Leisure Ltd., was created by Kim A. Kirk, a graduate from the University of British Columbia (Canada). After completing a Bachelor of Physical Education (1992), Kirk worked in the field of recreation specializing in children's programs.
Kirk prefers to learn kinesthetically and believes young children learn quickly and comprehensively through movement. She believes in the Chinese proverb that says: I hear and I forget, I see and I remember, I do and I understand.
Kirk also believes that physical activity and healthy eating are directly related to the wellness of people. She sees exercise and movement as vital parts of maintaining health regardless of age.
In 2001, Kirk created Kiddikins, a pre-kindergarten aged program based on kinesthetic learning. Kirk developed Kiddikins as a way for young children to be active physically, cognitively and socially.
Kirk tested Kiddikins in several communities before promoting the program. Test sites offered feedback for minor changes, but overall, rated Kiddikins with great enthusiasm.
Kiddikins now provides facilities, including recreation centres, community groups, pre-schools and daycares, with detailed instruction and equipment to teach Kiddikins Educational Movement Games based on kinesthetic learning.
Kiddikins makes learning a moving experience!
